Schefter: Peterson Contract Extension Worth $96 Million, $32 Million Guaranteed

We've been looking for confirmation on what kind of numbers were attached to Adrian Peterson's new contract extension, and it appears as though ESPN.com's Adam Schefter has them, according to what he just said on Twitter.

I'm not 100% sure if those numbers are correct, considering that Titans' running back Chris Johnson got $36 million guaranteed.

Regardless, Mr. Peterson appears to be excited about the prospect of spending the rest of his career in the purple and gold.

Very excited! Thx to God, my family, the Vikings, the fans for support. Can’t wait to get a ring and finish my career in Minn.less than a minute ago via WhoSay Favorite Retweet Reply

I sure do hope that #28's optimism is warranted.

Now that the Vikings have the extensions for both Peterson and linebacker Chad Greenway out of the way, they can focus on football.
