Buccaneers At Vikings: Minnesota Extends Lead To 10-0

The Minnesota Vikings put together another long, impressive scoring drive against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but had to settle for a field goal to extend their lead to 10-0.

The Vikings' offense continues to look much improved over their Week One output, moving the ball 74 yards on this drive. One of the highlights was quarterback Donovan McNabb channeling. . .well, Donovan McNabb from about ten years ago. . .and tightroping along the sidelines for a 13-yard scramble on 3rd-and-12 to keep the Vikings' drive alive.

Eventually, the Minnesota drive stalled out, and the Vikings had to settle for a 22-yard field goal from Ryan Longwell to give them a 10-0 lead with about five minutes left in the second quarter.

McNabb has 96 yards passing thus far, while Toby Gerhart and Adrian Peterson have combined for 90 yards on 14 carries for the Vikings. The Vikings also have a huge time of possession edge thus far, having held the ball for approximately 16 minutes, compared to just eight minutes for the Buccaneers.

With five minutes remaining until halftime, the Minnesota Vikings lead the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Metrodome by a score of 10-0.
