Buccaneers At Vikings: Tampa Bay Cuts Minnesota Lead To Three, 20-17

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are still fighting against the Minnesota Vikings, and the Vikings appear to be content to give them a hand.

The Buccaneers took over after the Vikings' last field goal and promptly marched 80 yards in eight plays for a score. Josh Freeman converted a couple of big third and short plays to keep the drive alive, and then hit Dezmon Briscoe for a huge gain. On that same play, Jared Allen hit Freeman late and tacked an extra 15 yards on to the play for the Buccaneers.

The Buccaneers followed that up with Freeman hitting receiver Arrelious Benn from 25 yards out for a touchdown. It was Benn's first reception of the afternoon, and Connor Barth's extra point allowed the Buccaneers to cut the lead to 20-17.

The Vikings have taken over at their own 9-yard line with 6:30 left on the clock, still nursing a three-point lead at the Metrodome in their home opener.
