Lions At Vikings: Detroit Now Within A Field Goal

If you're a member of the Minnesota Vikings, you have to think that this is getting relatively ridiculous.

After building a 20-0 halftime lead, the Vikings have seen the lead evaporate to three points. Even after the Vikings held the Lions deep in their own territory, the Lions only needed five plays to travel 89 yards and score another touchdown. The big play of the drive for Detroit was the last play of the third quarter, as Matthew Stafford found running back Jahvid Best for a 60-yard gain on a third down to put the Lions all the way down to the 5-yard line. A couple of plays later, Stafford found Calvin Johnson in the end zone for his second touchdown catch of the day.

Jason Hanson's extra point gave the Vikings a 20-17 lead.

The Lions have just stopped the Vikings on a fourth and short deep in Detroit territory, so the Vikings will give the ball back to the Lions with a little more than eleven minutes remaining in the game, clinging to a three-point lead.
