Lions At Vikings: Longwell Ties It Up For Minnesota

Ryan Longwell is one of the NFL's most accurate and reliable kickers, and he showed it again when the Vikings needed him late in this one.

The Vikings drove down to the Lions' 31-yard line, and the team attempted to take a shot deep into the end zone to Bernard Berrian, but Donovan McNabb missed his receiver by a couple of yards, allowing the pass to fall incomplete. The Vikings brought Longwell onto the field, and he was solid from 49 yards to tie the game at 23.

The Vikings have kicked it off for a touchback, and it's now on the Vikings' defense to either get a stop or to take this game into overtime.

With 1:11 left on the clock at the Metrodome, the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions are tied at 23. The Lions have just committed a false start to push them five yards farther back. We'll see if the Vikings can take advantage.
