2012 NFL Draft Order: Vikings Lock Up Third Overall Pick

Sunday's loss to the Chicago Bears ended a dismal season for the Minnesota Vikings, but there is a small silver-lining in all that losing. the Vikings will now pick No. 3 overall, assuring that they will get a quality player that can make an immediate impact. The Vikings will pick behind first Indianapolis, then St. Louis.

The Vikings have a bevy of players that should be available at the No. 3 spot. If they give up early on Christian Ponder, a solid quarterback such as Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III would possibly be available. LSU linebacker Morris Claiborne is expected to be available as a player that can shore up the Vikings' ailing defense. The Vikings could also look for help along the offensive line or the defensive secondary.
