NFL Mock Draft 2012: Matt Kalil To Vikings A 'No Brainer' According To WalterFootball

Walterfootball is known for making long, detailed mock drafts and their latest one is one of many drafts calling for USC Tackle prospect Matt Kalil to go to the Minnesota Vikings with the third overall draft selection.

This really is as much of a no-brainer as Andrew Luck to the Colts. If Matt Kalil is on the board, the Vikings won't spend two minutes handing in their draft card. Of course, I won't be happy about this because I won't have enough time to write stupid things in my live draft blog.

Kalil is the best non-quarterback in this class, and Minnesota has a major need at left tackle, where the pedestrian Charlie Johnson has sucked all year. The Vikings absolutely need to make sure Christian Ponder is well protected.

Interesting to note that they have the Cleveland Browns moving above the Vikings via trade to snag Baylor QB Robert Griffin III second overall, which would essentially guarantee Kalil falling into the Vikings' lap. Not bad for a prospect that WalterFootball says is 'the best left tackle prospect since Joe Thomas'.
