Minnesota Vikings' defensive end Jared Allen is known as many things. He's known as (quite possibly) the best defensive player in the National Football League, someone who is passionately supportive of America's men and women in uniform, and a free spirit who can laugh at himself.
One thing that he's not known as? A great singer. . .and this commercial that the NFL Network aired during the Conference Championship games this past weekend is not going to do anything to change anyone's perception on that front.
You'll notice that, while all the other singing is done in groups, Allen is the only one with the courage to take his act solo. Not sure what that says about Allen or his teammates, but it's still pretty cool to see in any event.
Hopefully, in the next couple of weeks here, Allen will have something to really sing about. . .like receiving the NFL's 2011 Defensive Player of the Year Award. He'll certainly be a contender for it, but the futility of the Vikings' defense as a whole might keep voters from recognizing his individual achievements.
