Jared Allen was one of the few highlights of the 2011 NFL season for the Minnesota Vikings. With an uncertain stadium situation and a top 3 NFL Draft pick the Vikings will have a very active offseason. It does not help that the Vikings finish the 2011 season at No. 29 in the final NFL Power Rankings according to SB Nation's Joel Thorman:

29. Minnesota Vikings (3-13, LW: 28): The news is still about Adrian Peterson. He needs to be healthy by the start of the season. The Vikings were bad with him -- imagine them without Peterson.

There is little doubt that the Vikings need to improve on a defense that struggled against everyone, especially in the passing game. It is likely that the Vikings will use the No. 3 overall pick on a defensive player in the hope of a quick turnaround.
