NFL power rankings, Week 12: Vikings stay at No. 15

The Minnesota Vikings had a bye week this week, and as such, they remained at No. 15 in the SB Nation power rankings.

The Minnesota Vikings took a week off for their bye in Week 11, and they currently sport a 6-4 record, which is good for third in the NFC North, behind the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears. Their last game was a strong win over the Detroit Lions, and they have a tough game against the aforementioned Bears for Week 12.

Joel Thorman of SB Nation released his Week 12 NFL power rankings, and he has the Vikings at No. 15, which is no change from last week, so any team that could have moved up didn't push them down.

15. Minnesota Vikings (LW: 15, 6-4): Adrian Peterson is on pace for 1,800 yards. Over or under?

It really is remarkable what Adrian Peterson has been able to do this season. He had major reconstructive surgery to repair a torn ACL and a torn MCL, and he's looked better than ever. Peterson is the workhorse of that offense and helps second-year quarterback Christian Ponder more than anyone can say.

Peterson has 195 carries for 1128 yards and seven touchdowns. He's got an average of 5.8 yards per carry, and has 150-plus yards receiving as well. If he keeps it up, the Vikings might just sneak into the playoffs, but the wildcard spots are not going to be easy to get.
