Vikings At Seahawks: Sidney Rice Strikes The Vikings

The Seattle Seahawks have put together a second consecutive scoring drive, and have taken the lead over the Minnesota Vikings as we near the end of the first quarter in Seattle.

After the Vikings punted. . .on a punt that featured a rare return out of the end zone by Leon Washington. . .the Seahawks started moving the ball downfield, largely behind the hands of former Viking Sidney Rice. Rice caught a 23-yard pass from Russell Wilson to put the Seahawks at midfield, and then threw a 25-yard pass to Zach Miller to move the Seahawks deeper into Minnesota territory.

Rice finished the drive on a 3rd-and-9 for the Seahawks, as Wilson found him in the end zone for an 11-yard touchdown. Steven Hauschka added the extra point, and the Seahawks have now scored 14 unanswered points in taking a 14-7 lead over Minnesota.

Vikings' quarterback Christian Ponder has yet to complete a pass, and has been wildly inaccurate thus far. Even though Adrian Peterson has been great thus far. . .he has 96 rushing yards in the first quarter of play. . .the Vikings need their quarterback to start making some plays.

We have 3:15 left in the first quarter in Seattle, and the Seahawks now lead the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 14-7.
