Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen will undergo an MRI on his back after suffering from back spasms following the Vikings' loss to Green Bay on Sunday.
Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said the MRI is just a precaution and Allen should be able to play this week against the Chicago Bears. Despite losing 23-14 to the Packers on Sunday, Allen had one of his best games of the season. Allen finished with six tackles and 1-1/2 sacks against Green Bay.
Wide Receiver Percy Harvin did not play against the Packers, but did some work with an athletic trainer on Monday. Harvin has missed the Viking's last three games due to a left ankle sprain suffered against Seattle. His status for Sunday's game against the Bears remains in question.
While Harvin's status is still unknown, Frazier said center John Sullivan should be fine to play against the Bears. Sullivan suffered a rib contusion against the Packers.
