NFL Mock Draft 2012: NFL Combine Changes Nothing, Matt Kalil Still The Favorite To Go To Minnesota

The NFL Combine is usually a time where players see themselves rise and fall in the blink of an eye, shaking up the mock drafts for a good, long time. That did happen this season, of course, but not to the guys at the very top of the draft this time around. Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III both did well enough to stick up in the top two, and the Minnesota Vikings are still being projected to take USC tackle Matt Kalil in the newest SB Nation 2012 NFL Mock Draft.

Whether the Vikings decide to stick with Christian Ponder for the immediate future or potentially make a run at Peyton Manning, they will need help keeping their quarterback on his feet. The secondary might as well be swiss cheese at this point, but I think they address that to some extent in free agency. Kalil did everything he needed to at the Combine to establish himself as the top offensive tackle in this draft.

Of course, being 'stuck' with Matt Kalil is absolutely no problem for a team with such a glaring need at offensive tackle. Unless something changes drastically, with the combine already almost over, you can probably expect to see Kalil continue to dominate the charts for the Vikings.
