2012 NFL Mock Draft: Vikings Select Matt Kalil In First Round

As SB Nation continues its NFL blogger 2012 NFL Mock Draft, the teams are currently making their second round picks. Here, the Minnesota Vikings select left tackle Matt Kalil with the third pick, then pick LSU wide receiver Reuben Randle with the 36th overall pick in the second round.

Matt Kalil has been the consensus pick with the Vikings first pick, but experts have been split on whom Minnesota will target in the second round.

With Percy Harvin recovering from minor shoulder surgery, and the rest of the Vikings wide receivers underperforming last season, adding a deep threat certainly fills a team need. Via Minnesota Vikings blog, The Daily Norseman:

At just a shade under 6’3" and around 210 pounds, Randle fits the bill as the sort of receiver that can play on the outside for Minnesota. He has the size to get off of press coverage and better top-end speed than you might expect, averaging a shade over 17 yards/catch for a team that was (largely) saddled with lousy quarterback play.
