Bill Parcells Pursued By Minnesota Vikings, According To Report

The Vikings are reportedly looking at hiring Bill Parcells to 'run the show' in Minnesota, while he is also being courted by the New Orleans Saints.

There has been a lot of buzz around the Minnesota Vikings this off season. They've got a high draft pick with all sorts of trading possibilities open, they're in the midst of several months of work trying to get a new stadium built for themselves and now it looks like they're going for a brand new guy to help build the team for the future.

According to the New York Post, the Vikings are courting Bill Parcells to become their new coach and GM figure after a bad showing last season from Leslie Frazier and Rick Spielman. Parcells has had a long history of coaching and front office work in his extended career, and the 70 year old appears to be in high demand again.

Even as the Saints beg Bill Parcells to come to New Orleans, The Post has learned Vikings owner Zygi Wilf is putting the hard sell on the former Giants and Jets coach to head to Minnesota and "run the show.’’

Parcells is also getting a lot of talk from the New Orleans Saints, who need a replacement for their suspended head coach Sean Peyton during the 2012 season. It's not clear if Parcells will go to either team, as he has technically been retired ever since he left the Miami Dolphins 'Football Czar' position after 2010.
