Notre Dame Fighting Irish wide receiver Michael Floyd is going to start making the rounds to different NFL teams that might be interested in his services this week, with one of his targets being the Minnesota Vikings. He's unlikely to be picked by Minnesota with their third overall pick -- USC tackle Matt Kalil is almost certain to get that honor -- but could be picked up by the Vikings if they were to make a trade down like they have been hinting they want to.
Michael is also visiting a handful of other teams including the Tennessee Titans and New York Jets during the week. For the Vikings he would fit one of the laundry list of needs that the team has, being a capable No. 1 receiver for Christian Ponder.
Floyd is a local kid, hailing originally from Cretin-Derham Hall in St. Paul, Minnesota. He had well over 1000 yards and nine TDs for the Irish in 2011.
