NFL Mock Draft 2012: Vikings Select Matt Kalil

In the latest edition of Ryan Van Bibber's 2012 NFL Mock Draft on SB Nation, the Minnesota Vikings select Matt Kalil, the left tackle from the University of Southern California.

Kalil, considered the best offensive line prospect in this year's draft, has been the trendy pick for the Vikings at No. 3 among most experts for a long time. LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne and Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon have also drawn some buzz, but the consensus seem to be Kalil.

Minnesota general manager Rick Spielman, however, says the Vikings have not ruled out trading down in the draft, according to Pro Football Weekly (via ProFootballTalk):

"There are times we have been in (the war room) and we’ve done deals on the clock," Spielman said, "It’s an unknown, but you’re prepared for both ways. We’ll be ready and we’ll have a good idea of what we think the value of that third pick is."

The Washington Redskins recently traded three first round picks and a second round pick for the Rams No. 2 overall pick in the draft.
