The 2012 NFL Draft has wrapped up and now there's a big chunk of time between now and the beginning of the next season. There will be training camps and other organized team activities, but for the most part, there's not a lot going on. As such, we've already talked about some obscenely early 2013 mock drafts and things of that nature, but how about some forecasts for the next season?
That means, of course, power rankings! SB Nation's Joel Thorman posted his first post-draft power rankings, and for the Minnesota Vikings ... not a whole lot is changing. He's got them at No. 29:
29. Minnesota Vikings (3-13, LW: 27): A lot depends on Adrian Peterson's health. Can he really be as effective as he was after such a significant knee injury?
In short, SB Nation thinks the Vikings won't be much different in 2012 than they were in 2011, which is somewhat understandable. They have them finishing one place away from where they did, but it's going to be an interesting season regardless, with Christian Ponder progressing a year and Peterson returning from the aforementioned injury.
It's definitely an apt point though, regarding Peterson. His injury was very serious and he might not even be ready for the regular season when it all comes down to it. It'll likely come down to the wire, with the Vikings not trying to rush him back and risk further injury.
