Vikings Training Camp: Minnesota Waives Nick Taylor, Signs Chris Stroud

Back in March, the Minnesota Vikings made an interesting choice when they signed a basketball player to a futures contract, former FIU man Nick Taylor. Unfortunately, Taylor injured himself in his first practice with the team during training camp and the Vikings decided to waive him on Monday.

Taylor was considered a longshot to make the team right from day one because of some concerns with his size and lack of experience playing football, against top competition or otherwise. His best asset was his speed, and he ended up being listed as a cornerback before being waived. He's likely to receive an injury settlement.

After waiving Taylor, the Vikings picked up a replacement cornerback in Chris Stroud, a rookie who played for Webber International.
