Vikings Training Camp: Christian Ponder Stifled By Defense In Drills

Pads are finally on and bodies are flying in the Minnesota Vikings training camp, with the team finally starting to put together full 11 on 11 drills with the offenses taking on the defenses. According to Twincities.com, the defenses have reportedly been getting the higher marks through the early days of the drills, with Christian Ponder getting rocked to keep the offense stifled early:

Defense prevailed in 11-man situational work Tuesday, July 31 at the Minnesota Vikings' training camp, forcing quarterback Christian Ponder into some errant throws and keeping the first- and-second-string offenses stagnate.

There's still plenty of time for the offense and Ponder to get their games together and prepare for the upcoming season, despite how the early camps go. Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said something to that effect during the camp as well, reminding everyone just how long there is to go:

"We're so early in camp," Frazier said. "You don't panic about those moments."
