Vikings Training Camp: Percy Harvin Will Return Kicks In 'Game Changing' Situations

Percy Harvin is easily the Vikings' best kickoff return specialist. He's proven as much through his first three seasons in the NFL, although last season was a disappointing one on all front. Given Harvin's injury history, the Vikings want to minimize to the possibilities of getting him hurt in the routine kicking game, instead using his talent when the team really needs. Sort of like a wild card return specialist.

This is what head coach Leslie Frazier had to say to 1500 ESPN:

"You can definitely see a difference when he's the guy returning kicks versus some of the other guys that we have," Frazier said. "It's obvious, but as we said before, you have to weigh what he gives us from an offensive standpoint as well and the way he plays. You have to weigh all of that when you're making a decision about putting him back there."

Harvin added that he would return kicks in "game changing" situations if the opportunity presented itself.
