Letroy Guion Injury: MRI Results On Nose Tackle's Right Knee Negative

MRi results show no structural damage to Minnesota Vikings nose tackle Letroy Guion, according to 1500 ESPN. Guion is expected to be ready for the season opener on Sept. 9, but will not play on Friday against San Diego and is not expected to play next week in Houston.

Guion had originally injured the posterior cruciate ligament in his right knee on Aug. 10 against San Francisco, yet returned to practice earlier this week with a brace on his knee. According to coach Leslie Frazier, Guion's injury "flared up" during the practice and the team is going to hold him out of practice to give him time to rest the knee.

Guion is making the transition this season to starting nose tackle after having back up Kevin Williams in the past. Guion has 38 career tackles in his five-year playing career, with just 2.0 sacks, yet has received high praise from the coaching staff for his work during the offseason.
