Vikings Depth Chart: Changes Could Come Following First Big Cut

The Minnesota Vikings completed their first round of big cuts recently, with their roster being shaved down to 75 players. What does this mean for the depth chart? Well, the folks over at Daily Noresman reorganized a projected depth chart for the final preseason game.

There were some interesting developments, especially on the defensive side, where not a single cornerback was cut from the team despite struggles from players such as Chris Stroud and Corey Gatewood. There are now nine cornerbacks fighting for six spots.

On the offensive side of the ball, there were some interesting moves at wide receiver as Daily Noresman explains:

"Some may have expected Brian Walters or Kerry Taylor (a punt returner and a field stretcher, respectively) to stay on the roster for a bit longer, but I suspect the Vikings just want to give the other receivers a longer look so they know how to settle the depth chart."
