The Minnesota Vikings will close out the preseason Thursday night with a trip to Reliant Stadium to face the Houston Texans. The game is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 CT.

Vikings coach Leslie Frazier announced early this week that starting quarterback Christian Ponder will not play, leaving signalcalling duties to backups Joe Webb and Sage Rosenfels. Star halfback Adrian Peterson, who has sat out the entire preseason as he rehabs from a knee injury sustained late last year, will also not participate, as will most of the team's regular starters. Of concern for the Vikings will be the defensive secondary, where the team has four injured players and numerous other questions as teams make final cuts late this week.

Houston will also be sitting most of its starters, including top two quarterbacks Matt Schaub and T.J. Yates.
