When the Minnesota Vikings kick-off the preseason on Friday night against the San Francisco 49ers, star running back Adrian Peterson is not expected to dress for the game. Peterson is still rehabilitating his surgically repaired right knee and is currently on the team's preseason physically unable to perform list.
Going into Friday night, Minnesota will be thin at the running back position as Toby Gerhart will be receiving limited reps, while Jordan Todman is questionable with an ankle sprain.
Backup running backs Lex Hilliard and Derrick Coleman should be given ample opportunity to display their abilities, while fullbacks Ryan D'Imperio and Matt Asiata could also receive some touches.
