Blair Walsh kicked the game-winning field goal for the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday afternoon and, shortly thereafter, the rookie was answering questions about his heroics in the locker room.
His quotes make it sound like he was impressed with his performance, but his body language apparently didn't project the same elation.
"It's awesome," Walsh said. "It's really awesome."
Well, Walsh was saying it was "awesome," but he wasn't acting like it was awesome. In fact, he didn't appear overly impressed by his accomplishments in his first regular- season NFL game. It almost was as if he were rifling through his mental files to come up with the proper response for a breathless media.
It'll be interesting to see if he gets anymore excited after his next overtime game-winning field goal.
