Blair Walsh Nominated For NFL Rookie Of The Week

Minnesota Vikings rookie kicker Blair Walsh is one of five players nominated for the NFL Rookie of the Week after going four-for-four on field goals in the Vikings' opening victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Walsh kicked a 55-yard field goal to send the game into overtime and won the game with a 39-yard field goal in overtime.

Walsh, a sixth-round pick out of Georgia, is up against some steep competition including Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III for his stellar performance against the New Orleans Saints. The other nominees are New York Jets WR Stephen Hill who caught two TD passes, New England Patriots DE Chandler Jones with five tackles, a sack and a forced fumble, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin who ran for 95 yards.

Fans can vote online and the winner of the award will be announced on Friday.
