Vikings Vs. 49ers: Randy Moss Returns To Metrodome

Former Vikings WR Randy Moss returns to the Metrodome this week when the San Francisco 49ers come to town. This is the first trip to Minnesota as a visitor for the superstar wide receiver, who spent the first seven years of his career with the Vikings.

Moss has an interesting history with Minnesota, providing dazzling highlights and various controversies during his time with the Vikings. In addition to the first seven years of his career, Moss also had a brief failed stint with the Vikings in 2010. During that season Moss played only four games for the Vikings before an ugly exit. After a game against the Patriots, Moss praised his former team and slammed his new head coach, Brad Childress. Moss was cut the next day.

After spending 2011 out of football, Moss is back, now with the 49ers. Although no longer the threat he once was, the WR is looking to have a good game against his old team and add to his 154 career TDs, a fact that doesn't escape the Vikings.

"I'm sure he is motivated," Vikings defensive end Brian Robison said. "I know if I was a guy that was here, I'd want to come back and make a statement."

The 49ers and Vikings kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET.
