Antoine Winfield Trying To Be Vocal Leader For Vikings

Minnesota Vikings CB Antoine Winfield gave a speech to the entire Vikings team on Wednesday. Winfield said he addressed not only the players, but also "coaches, GM, everybody."

Winfield, 35, is the oldest player on the team and in his ninth season with the Vikings and 14th season overall. He said the specifics of the speech will stay in the locker room. Winfield did mention that the team needs to execute better in crucial late game moments, but when asked what his speech was about he simply replied, "football."

"I only stand up and say stuff when it's coming from the heart and I think it needs to be said," Winfield said.

Winfield is a three-time Pro Bowler, earning the honor from 2008-2010. He only played five games for the Vikings last season, missing four games with a neck injury and the rest of the season with a broken collarbone. Winfield has 12 tackles and one pass deflection in the Vikings two game this season.
