49ers Vs. Vikings: Rookie Jarius Wright Expected To Be Ready

The Minnesota Vikings expect to have rookie wide receiver Jarius Wright ready to make his NFL debut on Sunday when they host the San Francisco 49ers.

Wright, a fourth-round draft pick out of Arkansas, missed the first two games of the season with an ankle injury but was a full participant in practice on Wednesday. Wright caught six balls for 122 yards and a TD in the Vikings final preseason game against the Houston Texans before injuring his ankle.

The Vikings know they will need to pass the ball Sunday as rushing the ball will be hard against a 49ers defense that has only allowed 127 yards rushing this season; they hope that Wright can help to open up the passing attack. After two game the Vikings rank 13th in passing offense with 498 yards. Minnesota has primarily used Wright in the slot position at practice, so expect to see him get some reps there during Sunday's game. Wright may also be used to return punts and kickoffs.
