49ers Vs. Vikings: Adrian Peterson Hopes San Francisco Is Ready For Rushing Attack

The Minnesota Vikings (1-1) take on the hottest team in the NFL on Sunday, but star running back Adrian Peterson is excited about the challenge of going against the San Francisco 49ers (2-0) in Week 3. Peterson (knee) has logged 33 carries for 144 yards and two touchdowns over the first two games, but he appears to be hitting his stride and he recently told the Star Tribune that the Niners may be in for a bit of a surprise:

"I don't think they've faced a run-attack offense like we have. So I think that can switch things up. We're looking forward to playing those guys. I'm sure they'll come in trying to stop the run ... Anytime we're playing one of the top defenses that stop the run, I'm even more stoked," he said. "I'm looking forward to it."

San Francisco boasts the No. 6 rushing defense in the NFL heading into Week 3, as they have given up just 127 yards and one touchdown on 40 carries by opponents. The 49ers and Vikings kick off on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. CT.
