Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder made an unexpected appearance on the team's injury report for Week 4, as the Vikings included a "neck issue" under the injury section for Ponder.

The young QB had limited participation in practice on Wednesday, and his practice status was not listed on Thursday -- which signifies "no practice status available." According to ESPN 1500, Ponder is dealing with "some tension in his neck, but he is expected to start" on Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

Defensive end Jared Allen also appeared on the injury report with a neck issue, and he was also limited in practice, meaning he took less than 100 percent of his normal repetitions, on both Wednesday and Thursday.

Through the first three games of the season, Ponder has completed 70.1 percent of his passes (68-97) and thrown for 713 yards and four touchdowns. The Vikings and Lions will meet on Sunday at Ford Field (12 p.m. CT, FOX).
