Jaguars At Vikings: Inactive Lists For Both Teams

We're about an hour and a half away from the start of the 2012 NFL season and the Week 1 match-up at the Metrodome between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Minnesota Vikings. Both teams have released their lists of inactive players for this afternoon's contest.

We'll start with the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars.

OL Josh Beekman
CB Derek Cox
DE Austen Lane
DT Jeris Pendleton
WR Brian Robiskie
DE George Selvie
LB Daryl Smith

The big names on that list are Cox and Smith, as they are both starters for the Jaguars. Smith, in particular, is the Jaguars' best coverage linebacker, which could mean big things for tight ends Kyle Rudolph and John Carlson this afternoon.

Now, for the Minnesota Vikings.

OL Mark Asper
QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson
LB Audie Cole
CB A.J. Jefferson
LB Marvin Mitchell
S Andrew Sendejo
WR Jarius Wright

Running back Adrian Peterson is not only active, but is being listed as the starter at running back ahead of Toby Gerhart. Peterson will probably get between 10-15 touches. None of the Vikings' other inactives are really that big a deal, as they're all backups. In the case of Jefferson and Asper, they're simply too new to the team to contribute this early.

We're getting closer to game time, folks. Keep it right here for all the latest updates!
