Jaguars At Vikings: Blaine Gabbert To Marcedes Lewis Makes Jacksonville Lead 9-0

This are still going badly for the Minnesota Vikings in the season opener, as the Jacksonville Jaguars have just increased their lead to 9-0 at the Metrodome in Minneapolis.

After another three and out by the Vikings. . .one that saw Adrian Peterson carry the ball all three times. . .the Jaguars went on yet another long drive, going 78 yards in 11 plays and taking seven more minutes off of the clock. The drive concluded with a one-yard touchdown pass from Blaine Gabbert to tight end Marcedes Lewis for the score. Jacksonville's Josh Scobee missed the extra point, and so we stand at 9-0.

The Jaguars have 11 first downs on the afternoon. The Vikings have one, and it came on their first play from scrimmage. Jacksonville has outgained Minnesota 169 to 34 thus far, and have had possession for a whopping 18:09, compared to just 6:30 for the Vikings. Jacksonville has run 32 offensive plays, while the Vikings have only run 10. That's a big reason why the score currently sits where it does.

With 5:21 remaining in the first half in Minneapolis, the Minnesota Vikings trail the Jacksonville Jaguars by a score of 9-0.
