Wild Win Again, Defeat Detroit 4-3 In Overtime

(Sports Network) – John Madden’s goal with 52 seconds remaining in overtime capped a late rally and lifted Minnesota past Detroit, 4-3, at Joe Louis Arena.

Brent Burns, Mikko Koivu and Cal Clutterbuck each scored a goal for the Wild, who have won three in a row including Wednesday’s 2-1 overtime win against Anaheim. Jose Theodore stopped 41 shots and Martin Havlat added two assists.

Darren Helm scored his first goal of the season and Johan Franzen also tallied in the loss. Patrick Eaves lit the lamp early in the third period and Jimmy Howard stopped just 23 shots in the setback for Detroit, which had its four- game winning streak snapped.
