Scott Cullen of the powerhouse hockey network TSN gave the Wild a small bump, likely due to winning a game or two. However, in his blurb about the team, he loses me:
Not much depth on defence behind Brent Burns, Marek Zidlicky and Nick Schultz. Cam Barker is supposed to play a big role, but was a healthy scratch behind three rookies last week.
I agree with the bit about Barker, but how deep do you need to be before you have depth at D? Top four, bottom two, right? Cullen is, apparently, unimpressed with Marco Scandella and Greg Zanon. This is, of course, his right, but the one position anyone considers the Wild to have depth at is defense, so this took me a bit off guard.
