Minnesota Wild Foundation And Total Hockey Announce 'Gear Up, Minnesota'

Approximately $30,000 of starter hockey equipment grants will be made available to Minnesota Hockey community-based hockey associations throughout the state via Gear Up Minnesota! The details of the program were announced today by Total Hockey and the Minnesota Wild Foundation. (The program used to be known as the Play Our Game Equipment Grant Program.)

"Our goal of providing every boy and girl an opportunity to participate in the great tradition of hockey in Minnesota continues to this day," said Brad Bombardir, Vice Chair of the Minnesota Wild Foundation. "It is very rewarding to be part of the continued growth of youth hockey in Minnesota!"

Over the ten years of the program's existence, they have donated nearly $125,000 worth of hockey equipment to associations across Minnesota.

If you would like to apply for a grant from Gear Up, Minnesota for your hockey association, you may do so at the Minnesota Hockey web site. Deadline for applications is 18 February 2011.
