Wild Place Patrick O'Sullivan On Waivers

According to Bruce Brothers of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the Minnesota Wild have placed forward Patrick O'Sullivan on waivers.

O'Sullivan was originally a draft pick of the Wild in 2003, and has also played for the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, and Carolina Hurricanes. The Wild re-acquired him after the Hurricanes waived him on November 23.

If nobody acquires O'Sullivan by today's deadline, the Wild plan to ship him down to Houston to play with the Aeros. However, Wild GM Brad Richards said that he expected for somebody to claim O'Sullivan.

The Wild will be taking on the Colorado Avalanche on Friday night, and could be short-manned with the waiving of O'Sullivan and injuries to both starting goalie Niklas Backstrom and backup Jose Theodore.
