Today, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton declared that Tuesday, February 1 would be "Defending the Blue Line" Day in the state of Minnesota.
↵Defending the Blue Line is a non-profit organization created by a group of National Guard soldiers in Minnesota. The charity assists families of all branches of the military with costs associated with hockey. They provide financial assistance for registration fees, free equipment, summer hockey camps, and sending many deserving families down to Xcel Energy Center for a night of fun at a Minnesota Wild game.
↵The declaration will be part of a two-hour event at the Minnesota State Capitol rotunda on Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
↵Big "props," as the kids might say, to Governor Dayton for recognizing the efforts of the folks at Defending the Blue Line and giving Minnesota's hockey families that are affected by military deployments and the like to be able to speak with their elected leaders.
