Minnesota Wild forward Pierre-Marc Bouchard has received a two-game suspension from the National Hockey League for an incident that took place in Saturday night's season opener against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
↵Bouchard took a swing at the head of Blue Jackets forward Matt Calvert, catching him with his stick. Calvert lost teeth and needed stitches because of the hit, but came back in the third period, even registering an assist.
↵Bouchard received a penalty for the play, but Columbus head coach Scott Arniel was pretty unhappy that Bouchard wasn't called for a major on the play.
↵↵↵"It's definitely an intent to injure," Arniel said. "They said it was deflected off our guy's stick and into his face. Our whole bench saw it. Their whole bench saw it."

Bouchard will miss both games on the Wild's upcoming road trip, as the team will travel to play the New York Islanders and the Ottawa Senators. He will be eligible to return when the Wild host the Edmonton Oilers on October 13.
