Wild Move Into First Place WIth 3-2 Win Over Anaheim

The Minnesota Wild moved into first place in the Northwest Division Sunday Night with a 3-2 win in Southern California against the Anaheim Ducks. Minnesota got first period goals from Kyle Brodziak, Matt Cullen, and Jared Spurgeon and held on to beat the Ducks and reverse Saturday's loss to the L.A. Kings.

Nicklas backstrom made 32 saves in the victory and only gave up a second period goal to Cam Fowler and a third period goal, also to Fowler, as he was dominant throughout. the victory ended a brief two game losing streak during this five game road trip. Four of the games ca   me out west, while Tuesday's final day of the road trip will be at Columbus.

Minnesota now has 21 points on the season and moved just ahead of the Edmonton Oilers within the division. Edmonton has 20 points, while Colorado and Vancouver are also close within the division at 17 points each.
