Wild Schedule: First Place Wild Can Expand Lead

For more on the wild, visit SB Nation's Hockey Wilderness.

After getting a dramatic 1-0 victory over the Colorado Avalanche Thursday night with a third period goal by Devin Setoguchi, the Minnesota Wild lead the Northwest Division by five points over second place Edmonton. The Wild also have the NHL's best goals against average at 1.9 per contest.

Minnesota will try to keep that positive momentum going when they host the St. Louis Blues this weekend at the Xcel Energy Center. SB Nation's Hockey Wilderness has a reaction from Thursday's game:

Big win for the Wild, and a huge shutout for Niklas Backstrom. Wild improve to 11-5-3, tying their all time best start (in points) from 2008-09.  They retain the lead in the Northwest, and remain in second place in the conference.

St. Louis enters the game with a the third best GAA in the NHL at 2.2 per game. The Blues have also won their last three games.
