Wild Head to Music City for Big Match up With Predators

Game preview from Hockey Wilderness. Be sure to check out the game thread tonight for full line ups and the Five Questions of the game.

Cliches, hyperbole, exaggeration. Pick one and insert it into every sentence. Multiply it by 100 and you might approach the level of intensity in the games these days. It sounds repetitive, but every game is big. Every point is big. With Nashville just one point behind the Wild, and the Wild currently two points out of eighth, to say this game isn’t the biggest of the season would be a joke.

Of course, every game from here on out is going to be the biggest game of the season.

Nashville comes in just 3-5-2 in their past ten, and will be itching to show they have what it takes in front of their home fans. Pekka Rinne will no doubt make it difficult on the Wild, and the defense first mentality of Nashville will frustrate an already depleted Wild squad. Shea Weber brings his 100+ mph slapper, and the rest of team brings an air of confidence not normally seen on a near super-starless roster.

Barry Trotz is a mastermind of a coach. He even looks like a Bond villain. THink you are going to out coach him? You’re wrong.

The Wild will need to play a full 60 minutes to beat the Predators, and the need to beat the Predators. The Havlat – Brodziak – Bouchard line will need to continue to spark the offense, and Latendresse will need to keep pushing himself and get involved a bit more. They need his scoring, and they need it soon.

Make sure you tune in tonight. Use the DVR and flip back and forth from the tournament. This game is important
