Wild Drop Lowly Oilers 4-2

Game recap from Nathan Eide of Hockey Wilderness.

Once again the Oilers come to town, once again the Wild leave with two points. They just own Edmonton, badly, winning their 16th straight. Goals from Martin Havlat, Marek Zidlicky, Antti Miettinen and Brad Staubitz, yes, Brad Staubitz give the Wild a 4-2 win, even though Minnesota certainly looked like they wanted to give the game away in the second half of the third period taking penalty after penalty. However, these are the Oilers, and they’re heading for a great draft position again because they are a terrible team who seem to shoot themselves in the foot with regularity, taking a stupid penalty with five minutes left to kill all the momentum they had built.

Anyway, yeah the Wild won but honestly it wasn’t an exciting win. Sure, the Wild forwards did a great job driving to the net, causing problems for the Oilers, but it’s just too little, too late.
