Wild Vs. Red Wings: Detroit Leads 5-0 After Two

The struggles continue for the Minnesota Wild. Coming off an overtime loss to Montreal earlier in the night before, they found themselves down 5-0 to the Detroit Red Wings after two periods of play on Friday night in Detroit.

Minnesota has mustered just 10 shots on net through two periods of play. Detroit has put an all out assault on Wild goalie Josh Harding with 25 shots so far.

It looked like Harding might have settled down a little until Darren Helm added a goal around the seven-minute mark in the second period. Things got quiet again, relatively speaking, until Valtteri Filppula scored his second goal of the game and 21st of the season at the 16:35 mark. Slightly more than a minute later, Ian White walked added an unassisted tally as Detroit took a seemingly insurmountable lead into the locker room.
