Minnesota Wild center Mikko Koivu is set to return for Thursday night's game against the Calgary Flames after being sidelined since Feb. 16 because of a shoulder injury, according to Judd Zulgad of 1500 ESPN Twin Cities.
"I'm very excited," said Koivu, whose team will complete a five-game homestand on Thursday. "It's been a long couple weeks here and it's feeling good to be out there practicing. But, obviously, a game situation is what you're looking for."
Koivu has missed a combined 27 games due to his shoulder injury as well as the NHL All-Star game which he was picked for. He's scored 10 goals to go along with 27 assists in 45 games this season.
The Wild are 32-30-10 with 70 points with just 10 games remaining and have fallen out of the playoff picture.
