The Minnesota Timberwolves went nearly six minutes without scoring in the fourth quarter on Wednesday night at the Bradley Center, but they found time to fit in a 12-0 run to the end the game, completing an 85-84 comeback win over the Milwaukee Bucks to put the final touches on a home-and-home preseason series sweep.

Kevin Love and Michael Beasley combined to score Minnesota's final 12 points over the final 2:42 of regulation to pull off a surprising win and gain momentum moving toward the regular season.

Love started and led everyone with 22 points and 16 rebounds in 27 minutes, including scoring 10 of Minnesota's final 12 points.

If the preseason is any sort of predictor for the regular season, three-point shooting might be an area of strength for the Timberwolves. After making 15-24 three-pointers in their 117-96 win over Milwaukee in Minnesota, the Timberwolves hit 6-15 at the Bradley Center on Wednesday.

The Timberwolves open the regular season on Dec. 26 when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder. Then they return to Milwaukee to face off against the Bucks on Dec. 27 before hosting LeBron James and the Miami Heat on Dec. 30.

The Minnesota Timberwolves showed off all of their promise and potential with a little flair while earning a 117-96 preseason win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

The flair came courtesy of heralded rookie point guard Ricky Rubio who was able energize the Target Center crowd off the bench by setting up several baskets for teammates with his nifty passing and ball handling. Rubio played 23 minutes and finished the game with six points, seven assists and six rebounds, with the signature play for the young Wolves coming when Rubio threw a lob from the top of the key to fellow rookie Derrick Williams for a high-flying finish.

Williams also had a strong rookie debut, coming off the bench to pump in 14 points in 21 minutes of play. As usual, forward Kevin Love did plenty of the heavy lifting for the Wolves, scoring 21 points (including 4 of 7 three-pointers) and grabbing 15 rebounds to pick up right where he left off last season. Michael Beasley also added 21 points and six rebounds to the win.

Mike Dunleavy led the way for Milwaukee with 16 points and five assists while rookie Jon Leuer added 18 points and five rebounds off the bench. The two teams will meet again on Wednesday at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee for the final preseason game before starting the NBA regular season.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to move from intriguing young team to exciting young team with more wins to show for it during the NBA regular season. That process picks up steam on Saturday evening when the Wolves host the Miwaukee Bucks at 7:00 p.m. CT in the first of two preseason games between the teams during the NBA's abbreviated training camp.

The most excitement surrounds heralded rookie point guard Ricky Rubio who is expected to start in his Minnesota debut. Head coach Rick Adelman will be supplying the veteran savvy from the sidelines as he expects to start a lineup with the old man of the crew being 26-year old center Darko Milicic, with the 21-year old Rubio and 23-year old Kevin Love relied on to provide leadership on the floor.

But there is plenty of talent among all of that youth as they look to measure themselves against a Milwaukee Bucks in a bit of a transition but always ready to provide a rugged test under coach Scott Skiles. Point guard Brandon Jennings should make for an interesting matchup for Rubio's debut, with his tendency to put a little flair in his game.

Mike Dunleavy Jr. is a new addition to the Bucks lineup while forward Stephen Jackson is questionable dealing with a back issue and a desire for a contract extension. The Bucks will be most dangerous around the bucket, with center Andrew Bogut looking to take advantage of his skilled post game.
