For more on the Minnesota Timberwolves, check out Canis Hoopus.

The Minnesota Timberwolves aren't quite up to .500 yet, but they've been turning some heads lately and are on a three-game winning streak. Their last outing was a thrilling 101-98 win over the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Timberwolves will have another tough game on their hands on Saturday when they continue their road trip with a game against the Utah Jazz.

Really, the Jazz are much like the Timberwolves this season, in that they're exceeding expectations. They're just getting things done at a faster rate than Minnesota. Though they did lose their last outing 94-91 to the Dallas Mavericks, the Jazz are winners in eight of their last 10 games and boast a 9-5 record. Though they boast the big record, the Timberwolves have momentum on their side, especially after that win over the Clippers. Ricky Rubio hit a tying three with 20 seconds left and Kevin Love hit a three at the buzzer to steal the win away.

Not surprisingly, those are the two Timberwolves who are receiving All-Star votes.

The Jazz have been good for many seasons, but expectations were tempered this offseason with the departure of some of the big-name veterans. They haven't missed a beat though, and are looking to get right back in the win column with a victory over the Timberwolves There is a lot of young players on that team that can take them far, but Minnesota might be able to take advantage of that youth by capitalizing on the Jazz coming off a loss.
