The Minnesota Twins saw their modest four-game winning streak end in emphatic fashion on Sunday at Milwaukee, as the Brewers avoided a sweep at Miller Park in a 16-3 win. The Twins' pitching staff gave up 17 hits and the Brewers scored 16 unanswered runs after Minnesota took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

Milwaukee had a six run second inning, spurred by a two-run double by Ryan Braun. Jonathan Lucroy and Corey Hart also had solo homers early on for Milwaukee. Lucroy also added a grand slam in the seventh inning to go 3 for 5 on the day with seven RBI.

Joe Mauer still had a solid 4 for 5 day at the plate for the Twins, but Jason Marquis only made it through five out before he was tagged with eight earned runs.

Looking to rack up their fifth consecutive victory, the Minnesota Twins will try to get the best of Milwaukee starter Zach Greinke in Sunday's series finale at Miller Park.

Now up to 14-26 for the season, the Twins have poured on 31 runs over their current four-game streak, and finally look to be coming out of the massive hole they dug for themselves to kick off the season. To oppose Greinke, Minnesota will send veteran righty Jason Marquiss to the hill. Marquis has not won a game since April 29, and has hovered in the mid-6.00 ERA range for virtually the entire year.

Constantly looking to tweak things to keep his run production going, manager Ron Gardenhire has opted to keep recently called-up outfielder Ben Revere in the No. 2 hole ahead of the deadly Mauer-Willingham-Morneau trio. Revere is 4-for-10 from the plate with a pair of steals in three games since his call-up, and adds even more speed to the top of a Minnesota lineup with Denard Span holding down the leadoff spot.

Here are the lineups for Sunday's game:

Twins
1. Denard Span - CF
2. Ben Revere - RF
3. Joe Mauer - C
4. Josh Willingham - LF
5. Justin Morneau - 1B
6. Brian Dozier - SS
7. Trevor Plouffe - 3B
8. Jamey Carroll - 2B
9. Jason Marquis - SP

The Minnesota Twins (14-26) look to continue their winning ways and complete a sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers (16-24) when the two teams wrap up their weekend interleague series on Sunday at Miller Park. Trevor Plouffe kept the positive momentum rolling for the Twins with his 11th-inning home run on Saturday that pushed Minnesota to a 5-4 win.

Completing the sweep won't be easy for the Twins as Milwaukee turns the ball over to their ace Zack Greinke to close out the series. Greinke is 4-1 with a 2.88 ERA and 53 strikeouts in eight starts so far this season and riding a 15-inning scoreless streak into the game. The tough right-handers also hasn't lost at Miller Park in 21 starts.

Minnesota will throw veteran right-hander Jason Marquis at the Brewers. Marquis is just 2-3 with a 6.68 ERA in his six starts so far this season.

The game is scheduled to start at 1:10 p.m. CT and will be televised on Fox Sports North.

Powered by a Trevor Plouffe solo home run in the 11th inning, the Minnesota Twins extended their winning streak to a season-high four games in exciting fashion on Saturday at Milwaukee's Miller Park.

Twins starter Carl Pavano, who reportedly felt fantastic after a week of light work to iron out his shoulder inflammation, gave up two earned runs over six innings with six strikeouts to record the no decision. Minnesota held a two-run advantage heading into the bottom of the eighth, but set-up man Jared Burton was tagged for a two-run bomb by Aramis Ramirez that tied the game and eventually forced extras.

The 25-year-old Plouffe entered the game in the 11th as a pinch hitter and saw just three pitches before taking Milwaukee reliever Manny Parra to dead left center. Plouffe was hitting just .135 with three home runs on the season before the game-winning blast kept the Twins' streak of impressive performances alive.

Now 14-26 and within shouting distance of a .500 record, the Twins will send 2-3 veteran Jason Marquis to the hill for Sunday's series finale against the Brewers.

The Minnesota Twins (13-26) are suddenly on a roll after beating the Milwaukee Brewers (16-23) for their third straight win. The two teams will continue their three-game interleague seires on Saturday at Miller Park.

Minnesota will try to keep the offense going after scoring 26 runs in the three wins and pounding out 16 hits on Friday against the Brewers. Milwuakee will try to slow down the Twins with right-hander Yovani Gallardo on the mound. Gallardo is 2-4 with a 5.04 ERA in eight starts so far this season for the Brew Crew.

The Twins will give the ball to right-handed veteran Carl Pavano who is 2-3 with a 5.14 ERA in his eight starts this season. Pavano will look to rebound from a tough no decision outing in his last start when he gave up six hits and four runs in a game the Twins eventually lost to Cleveland.

For the third time in their last four games the Minnesota Twins exploded for 11 runs on Friday night. That outburst of offense powered them over the Milwaukee Brewers by a final score of 11-3 in the opening game of a weekend series.

Denard Robinson had four hits and drove in three runs. Justin Morneau and Joe Mauer each drove in three runs as well. Josh Willingham was the only player to go deep for the Twins. His two-run shot in the first inning started the scoring for Minnesota.

Twins left-hander Scott Diamond picked up his third win in three starts this season. Diamond gave up eight hits and three runs in five and a half innings of works, while watching his ERA drop to 1.40.

This win makes it three in a row for the Twins. They try for four at 4:10 p.m. on Saturday.

Minnesota starting pitcher Scott Diamond will try his luck from the plate on Friday evening, as the Twins open a three-game Interleague series with the Miami Marlins. The 2-0 Diamond, who has thrown 14 consecutive scoreless innings to open his 2012 campaign, has never once faced big league pitching as a hitter in his career.

Oddly enough, umpire Bob Davidson, who was scheduled to work Friday's game, was suspended by the league earlier in the day according to Fox Sports Wisconsin.

Umpire Bob Davidson, scheduled to work the Milwaukee Brewers' series opener with the Minnesota Twins at Miller Park on Friday, was suspended one game by the commissioner's office for repeated violations of "standards for situation handling."

Davidson obstructed the view of Philadelphia catcher Brian Schneider on a key play in a game back on Tuesday, and will be replaced with a minor league umpire in his one-game absence.

Looking for three straight, the Twins will send a red-hot 3-4-5 trio of Mauer, Willingham and Morneau to face Milwaukee starter Marco Estrada. Estrada has given up two home runs in each of his last three starts despite posting a respectable 4.20 ERA for the year, but has been susceptible to the long ball throughout his four-year career. With Diamond on the mound and Minnesota's Big Three each healthy and locked-in at the plate, a three-game win streak could definitely be in the cards for Ron Gardenhire's team.

Here are the starting lineups for Friday night's game:
