Swarm Defeat Mammoth In Overtime, 11-10

The Minnesota Swarm got the second half of their NLL season off to a good start, scrapping away for a 11-10 overtime victory over the Colorado Mammoth on Friday night.

All-Star forward Ryan Benesch notched his second game-winning goal of the year in overtime after the Swarm won the opening faceoff of the extra period. The Swarm looked to be in control with 90 seconds left, as Andrew Watt completed a hat trick with a goal on a penalty shot to give the Swarm a 10-9 lead, but the Mammoth came back to tie the game with just 38 seconds left in regulation on Alex Gajic's second goal of the night.

Nick Patterson went the distance in goal for the Swarm, stopping 38 of 48 shots thrown in his direction. Colorado goalie Chris Levis stopped 31 of 41 shots in a losing effort.

The Swarm won't take the field again until March 25th in Edmonton when they take on the Rush. Then, the team will finally return home on March 27th to take on the Buffalo Bandits on "Family Day At The Hive." The game against the Bandits will be nationally televised on the Versus network.
